Hope House Children’s Hospices have an opportunity for a Maintenance Officer to join our retail team, your work base will be Conwy, and the role will cover North Wales and Cheshire, and surrounding counties as and when required. You will join us on a Full-time 37.5 hours, permanent basis. (although part-time working of 30 hours will be considered). In return, the Maintenance Officer will receive a competitive salary of £24,771 - £27,350 FTE (Depending on experience). About the Maintenance Officer role: Your role as a Maintenance officer is to help us deliver Our Purpose, through ensuring that our buildings and grounds are maintained to an excellent standard, where our children, families, staff, volunteers and supporters feel safe. You will work alongside the Retail Estates Manager, shop teams and retail management. Ensure that our retail buildings are maintained to an excellent standard and comply with all relevant building regulations. You will have good all-round knowledge of general building and maintenance skills and be capable of safely carrying out effective repairs and maintenance tasks. You will have a background in building, fitting or maintenance with a hands-on practical approach. Record keeping will also be an important aspect of the role, as well as basic IT skills. You will be flexible in your approach to working hours and times and be willing and able to travel across Shropshire, Cheshire, North & Mid Wales. You will be provided with a company vehicle to carry out your role across the region. We are looking for a Maintenance Officer who has: A range of general building and maintenance skills. The ability to efficiently manage a varied workload, prioritising as appropriate. Support shop acquisitions and refurbishments, completing general building works and fit out as required. Valid full driving licence. Basic qualification/certification (or equivalent experience) in a recognised building trade. The enthusiasm to participate in projects and work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues and contractors. Physical demands: you must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 22kg on a day to day basis.
