At Knights Brown, we are committed to integrating environmental and sustainability benefits into the delivery of our projects. As such, we are creating a new role for an experienced Environmental and Sustainability Coordinator to join our social value team based inBridgend,South Wales.
The holder will be pivotal in supporting our climate action strategy, developing and leading initiatives to reduce emissions and other environmental impacts, and educating and inspiring our teams.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and influence our environmental and sustainability approach.
Key Responsibilities
Develop meaningful and impactful environmental and sustainability programmes aligned with our strategy and company policies.
Mentoring and guiding our site teams to implement bespoke carbon reduction plans in collaboration with our customers and supply chain partners.
Develop and monitor environmental strategies and plans to ensure compliance and alignment with company policies.
Provide guidance and mentorship to site teams to improve sustainability performance and reporting, supporting our role out of SmartWaste.
Encourage and inform site teams to progress towards waste and carbon reduction objectives and the implementation of our sustainable procurement policy.
Monitor adoption and compliance through regular audits and assessments, promoting continuous improvement through our Right Works standards.
Support our Work Winning Team in preparing expert responses for tenders/PQQs, providing case studies demonstrating sustainability achievements and social value impacts.
Work closely with the social value team to support divisional Social Value Reporting and performance tracking.
Develop best practice approaches and support innovation throughout the division.
Play an active/leading role in our divisional climate action support group, making suggestions and recommendations to the leadership steering committee and influencing corporate strategy.
Support company initiatives such as our anti-idling campaign and carbon reduction plan
About You
We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for their subject and keen to make an impression in the construction sector. This role demands a candidate who is motivated, knowledgeable, and ready to make a tangible impact.
Key Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Geology, Environmental Sciences, Ecology, or a related field.
Proven experience in an Environmental and Sustainability/ Social Valuerole or equivalent.
Strong understanding and application of environmental legislation and best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
