We’re seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 3–19 with a range of complex needs, including autism (ASD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and challenging behavior.

Your Role Will Include:
* Tailored Support: Provide one-to-one and group assistance, adapting your approach to meet individual needs and help students reach their potential.
* Promoting Independence: Empower children to develop essential life skills and build confidence in and out of the classroom.
* Positive Engagement: Use creative and practical strategies to encourage active participation and progress.
* Behavioral Support: Apply excellent de-escalation techniques and create a calm, safe learning environment for all pupils.
* Holistic Care: Assist with personal care needs where necessary, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a consistent, supportive approach to learning and development.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience or Interest in SEND: Previous experience with ASD, SLD, PMLD, or challenging behavior is ideal, but enthusiasm and a genuine interest are just as important.
* Resilience & Adaptability: Flexibility and a positive attitude are key in this varied and rewarding role.
* Strong Communication Skills: Build trust and rapport with students, colleagues, and families.
* Understanding of SEN Practices: Knowledge of relevant strategies, including those for the EYFS, KS1, and beyond, is a bonus!
Qualifications & Skills:
* NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent is preferred.
* Good English and Mathematics skills are desirable.
* Previous experience with personal care or manual handling is advantageous, though training will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
