We are looking to appoint committed and enthusiastic people to be Health and Social Care Officers in our day service for Autistic Adults.
We provide a service for adults with severe learning disabilities and Autism and are looking to appoint people who are energetic, enthusiastic, creative and committed to enhancing the lives of people with additional needs.
Successful applicants will be joining an experienced, dedicated and creative team providing fun and meaningful opportunities for people to develop their independence and reach their full potential. We use a wide range of activities and therapies to meet individual sensory and social interaction needs whilst supporting people to access the community and learn new skills in a safe and caring environment.
You will use person centred approaches to ensure that the needs and aspirations of the individuals are met and support people to express themselves, make choices and utilise their own unique forms of communication/expression.
We are looking to appoint people who are willing and able to adopt new and innovative approaches and creative solutions in what can be a constantly changing environment.
You will be expected to assist in all aspects of daily living, including personal care, and have some experience in working with people whose behaviour may be seen as challenging. You should be willing to partake in activities such as walking, swimming, and rebound therapy.
In addition, you will receive:
1. A dedicated 5-day induction
2. Generous annual leave in addition to Bank Holidays with the ability to buy additional leave annually
3. Access to Mindfulness sessions and other wellbeing initiatives
4. Access to a generous, defined benefit pension scheme
5. Access to a home electronics scheme and vehicle leasing scheme
We are committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is working in regulated activity. If you are successful, we will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a check to see if you have had any criminal convictions, a check of police information, and we will check the barred list(s). It is a criminal offence for a barred individual to apply for a job in regulated activity.
