If you are a buyer interested in a category lead role, while learning new food category knowledge and taking on a more strategic role, then this might be the role for you.
It's a hybrid-working (3 days pw in the office) role, in the East Midlands, and full category training would be provided. The company is professionalising the function after consolidation and significant capital investment, and there is now room for someone with experience buying food for a manufacturer (either raw materials or finished products) to join the team. A retail buyer of food could also be a fit: provided they understood commodity market drivers; buying for savings, service, and quality; and Total Business Cost.
You would only be doing limited transactional buying, it's more about creating a category strategy, supplier management, and supporting the procurement manager in other categories.
On the days you are in the office, you would probably enjoy the smaller-company family-feel to the site (despite being a multi-site manufacturing business).
Monday to Friday 9-5 or 8-4, 3 days per week in the office, 2 days from home.
Benefits
* Enhanced pension scheme
* 25 days annual leave + statutory days
If this sounds like it might be a fit and you have the food buying experience from a UK manufacturer or retailer, then apply and I will call you back with more information - so you can make your mind up.
