As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will design electrical control systems for a range of industries, including Sand & Quarry, Recycling, Food, Renewables, Animal Feeds, Refrigeration, and Water & Waste Water. Your responsibilities will include producing electrical schematics, block cable diagrams, and BOMs, liaising with clients to understand their requirements and provide solutions, working on your own initiative and as part of a team to complete projects on time and to a high standard, and assisting other departments such as production, site installation, sales, and technical support as needed.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be educated at an HNC or higher in Electrical Engineering, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar design or project management role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, good IT skills, and a willingness to develop and learn new skills with on-and off-the-job training are essential. Experience with a range of PLCs, HMIs, and Variable Speed Drives is also required. Desirable criteria include experience with Eplan electrical schematic software, development of PLC and HMI software (preferably with Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Mitsubishi), 2-3 years of project management experience, and a good understanding of electrical standards.
