Job Title: SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant Location: Chesterfield (S43) Pay Rate: £100 per day GSL Education is seeking a compassionate and resilient SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant to support children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a primary school setting in Chesterfield (S43). This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping young learners develop confidence, resilience, and academic skills in a nurturing and structured environment. Job Responsibilities: • Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students with SEMH needs, fostering positive relationships. • Assist in implementing individual education and behavior support plans to help students manage emotions and behaviors. • Support teachers in delivering engaging and adapted lessons that cater to the needs of SEMH learners. • Encourage and promote positive behavior strategies, helping students develop self-regulation skills. • Foster a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment where students feel supported. • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students. Requirements: • Experience working with primary-aged children with SEMH needs or in a similar support role. • Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and trauma-informed approaches. • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one. • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trust with students who may have complex needs.
