An opportunity has arisen within the CHoICE Finance team to take responsibility for the planning and reporting of the company's financial position, reporting to the Financial Controller.
The role will take responsibility for collating the annual budget, ongoing development of the company's financial reporting, and the collation of the statutory accounts with the support of the Financial Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for a finalist or near finalist who may have experience of working within different areas of finance including but not limited to financial services and/or financial management and would like to use their experience gained to manage the delivery of financial reporting at a corporate level.
The ideal candidate will be able to set clear and concise personal objectives as well as be able to set and monitor objectives for the team. Good communication skills are essential, with the ability to present complex information to operational teams.

Main duties of the job
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will provide leadership to the CHoICE Finance team, leading and developing the financial management and reporting of the company.
The role is responsible for the collation of the company's annual revenue and capital budget as well as the preparation of the monthly finance report to the Board of Directors.
You will have a minimum of three years experience working in a Finance environment within a large or complex organisation and be confident in the use of spreadsheets, word processing, and other computer applications. A sound understanding of tax legislation associated with limited company accounting is desirable, as is an understanding of finance in both the commercial sector and within public bodies.
Supporting the governance of the company is a key objective of the role. This will include ensuring policies and procedures are maintained and complied with, statutory returns are completed in line with required timescales, and the statutory accounts are prepared with the support of the Financial Controller.
The role involves the use of multiple computer systems, so excellent IT skills are an essential requirement.
The Finance team work Monday to Friday between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 and flexible working opportunities are available. The post will predominantly be based at South Tyneside District Hospital; however, travel to other sites may be required.

Job responsibilities

Supports the collation of the company's annual revenue and capital budget.
Responsible for the preparation of the monthly finance report to the Board and lead on the preparation of the robust monthly finance updates to Divisional areas as well as reliable forecasts.
Provide technical support for contract negotiations, monitoring and review, and support financial modelling as required.
Assist in the preparation of the statutory accounts.
Responsible for the delivery of the Company's cash flow planning and monitoring.
Provides senior financial support for new business developments, including tender preparation and investment appraisal.
Ensure financial support for other ad-hoc projects or service reviews across the department.

Experience
* Minimum of 3 years finance experience.

* Preferably Oracle Financials experience.
* Supervisory, management, or coaching experience.
Skills and Knowledge
* Experience in finance working in a large or complex organisation preferably with an understanding of both the commercial sector and public bodies.
* Sound understanding of and working knowledge in the application of Financial Reporting Standards.
* Effective problem-solving skills, especially for new issues where there is no precedent to follow.
* A sound understanding of tax and legislation associated with limited company accounting.
