A primary school based in Birkenhead have approached New Directions to assist them in finding a Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with one of their year 2 students. This is full-time role to as soon as possible, continuing through the new academic year starting September 2024.
The right person for the role will:

5. Work closely with the class teacher

Teaching or classroom assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

We’ll also consider experienced learning support assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
20. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
21. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
22. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
23. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
24. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills
