About the Role
We’re looking for a Transport Supervisor to lead our afternoon and evening operations, ensuring everything arrives back safe and sound, fully prepared for the morning operations the next day. In this role, you’ll manage essential tasks that support smooth operations, safety, and team coordination.
Key Responsibilities as an afternoon/evening Transport Supervisor:
* Driver & Vehicle Support: Meet drivers as they return, debrief post-shift, and conduct vehicle hygiene and cleanliness checks.
* Safety & Compliance: Conduct and document vehicle checks, ensuring all safety standards are met.
* Driver Rescue: Assist with unplanned changes and provide driver support as needed.
* Next-Day Prep: Review upcoming schedules, make necessary adjustments based on drivers’ finishing times, and coordinate with the yard supervisor to ensure readiness for the next shift.
What You’ll Bring:
* Organisation & Calm Under Pressure: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a logical approach to prioritise tasks, understanding drivers’ hours, working time regulations, and urgent needs.
* Strong Communication Skills: Clear, supportive communication with drivers and the wider team, and the ability to handle basic investigations and disciplinary matters when required.
* Computer Skills: Competence with computers and relevant systems, with attention to detail in documentation and scheduling.
* Qualifications: HGV Category C Licence & Valid Counterbalance Licence are both desirable.
