Job overview
Are you a 3rd year nursing student or a newly qualified nurse who is passionate about delivering high quality nursing care to people in their own homes? Community nursing is a challenging and rewarding career, providing care for patients within their own homes and the community setting.
Main duties of the job
District nurses make a difference every day to the lives of the people they visit at home and in residential care homes. They provide increasingly complex care for patients and support for family members. You will visit patients in their own homes and provide a comprehensive range of clinical nursing activities. A key aspect of the role will involve working with the wider multidisciplinary team to help plan and deliver complex care to enable patients to remain in their home environment for as long as possible.
Working for our organisation
You will have access to the Oxford Health Flyer Programme designed to support and develop newly qualified nurses and allied health professionals (AHP)s. The programme provides evidence-based support and guidance to all newly registered nurses and AHPs helping them make the transition from student to professional.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a car for work. The service operates 7 days per week, 8am to 6.30pm. Full or part time (minimum 22.5 hours) roles are available.

Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse (adult).
* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
Knowledge and Experience
* Knowledge around long term conditions and their management.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Previous Community Services experience.
Technical expertise/competence
* Demonstrates an understanding of local and national issues influencing the delivery and development of health care.
* Demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of evidence-based care.
* Demonstrates an understanding of the Clinical Governance requirements.
* Employees are expected to undertake mandatory and statutory training related to their role.
