D7 Recruitment is working with a leading employer in the leisure and tourism sector to find a dedicated Health, Safety & Compliance Coordinator for their Kendal office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a health and safety professional looking to develop their career within a dynamic and growing business environment.
As part of a collaborative team, you will be working closely with health and safety representatives across the business. This role provides the perfect platform to gain further expertise and progress into a management position.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Health & Safety Policy Support: Assist with implementing and improving health and safety policies and procedures across the business.
2. Compliance Monitoring: Ensure the business complies with legal and industry standards.
3. Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents and near-misses, carry out root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.
4. Training Delivery: Assist with health and safety training and promote a proactive safety culture across the organisation.
5. Legislative Knowledge: Stay up to date with relevant legislation and ensure practices are compliant.
6. Collaborative Working: Work with various business teams to embed health and safety best practices.
What We're Looking For:
1. Experience: health and safety-related role (preferably within property, retail, caravan parks, or visitor attractions).
2. Qualifications:
1. IOSH Managing Safely certification
2. A full UK driving licence.
3. NEBOSH General Certificate Level 3 (or willingness to pursue this qualification).
3. Skills & Competencies:
1. Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
2. Excellent problem-solving skills and risk assessment abilities.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
4. Ability to work collaboratively across various teams.
Desirable but not essential:
1. Knowledge of ISO 45001 health and safety management systems.
2. Familiarity with construction and maintenance safety, including CDM 2015.
3. Project/Leadership experience or exposure to safety initiatives.
