To work with the In-Patient Phlebotomy Team as a Phlebotomy Supervisor assisting management in leading the Phlebotomy team to ensure great care is provided to our patients.
To work as a supervisor completing HR related tasks in the clinical areas as well as supporting your team by performing Venepuncture and ensuring a smooth efficient service.
Main duties of the job
The Phlebotomy Supervisor will work Monday through Friday, 7:30-11:45, and a rotated weekend pattern of 7:30-11:45, equivalent to one weekend in four, rostered via requests. Bank holiday work is also required.
The supervisor is responsible for the phlebotomy team in the clinical area and must be competent in Venepuncture with significant experience. The team comprises 30 band 2 phlebotomists working a variety of shifts between 7:30-15:30 across both Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital. There is a requirement to work across both sites on a week-by-week basis, sharing the responsibility with a second band 3 supervisor and escalating to a band 4 Team Leader and band 7 Charge Nurse.
You have a responsibility to ensure the smooth running of the Phlebotomy service, performing on the floor clinical duties of Phlebotomy, supporting your team, as well as performing some HR related tasks.

Person Specification
QUALIFICATIONS
* NVQ LATA Level 2 or equivalent (4 or 5 GCSE's at Grades A-C)
* English & Maths GCSE's Grades A to C or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
* Can demonstrate previous use of good organisational skills
* Can demonstrate previous use of good communication skills
* Experience of dealing with patients or in care settings
* Previous management experience of a large team
* Phlebotomy experience within a hospital setting
* Venepuncture experience of more than 3 years in a clinical environment
