About the Team
The GIAA Finance & Commercial team is responsible for providing sound financial management and commercial advice, preparing management and financial accounts, leading on budgeting and forecasting, and providing accurate information for Parliamentary control and public accountability purposes.
About the Job
In this role, you will:
• Producing the Financial statements and Notes for GIAA’s Annual Report and Accounts (ARA);
• Working with colleagues across GIAA to produce other key aspects of the ARA including the Staff and Remuneration Report;
• The leading contact for the external audit process with NAO, successfully leading GIAA through the Interim and Final audits;
• Leading on Financial controls, reviewing their effectiveness and where there are opportunities to evolve and streamline. Reporting to Audit and Risk Assurance Committee (ARAC) and working with Internal Audit on changes.
About You
You will have experience of preparing Financial statements and success in understanding and using accounting standards (for example IFRS, FReM and Managing Public Money). You will have experience of leading an organisation through the external audit process. You’ll have the ability to analyse, interpret and report on datasets, identifying trends over time. The ability to communicate complex financial concepts in an understandable format to non-finance partners
