KDC North West a small charity located in Huyton Merseyside has been delivering direct payments for over 20 years under contract with the local authority. We are looking for a DPO (formerly Independent Living Coordinator) to join the team.
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £25,500 p.a.

Key Result Areas:
To deliver support to the Direct Payments Team and Home Visits for Direct Payment Recipients (hybrid working will be considered) and undertake administration and account management tasks to ensure that:
• All Direct Payments recipients experience excellent standards of customer service, across all aspects of their Direct Payment Care Package.
• Information systems are up to date and data is accurate, clear and readily available.
• Accounts are reconciled regularly and monitored.
• Queries are dealt with efficiently.
• Support all members of the Direct Payments Team and in broader terms all KDC Staff with information held within the Direct Payments Team’s data.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Working as part of a team providing a comprehensive support service enabling people to receive and manage Direct Payments for their personal health and social care needs. The role covers a range of duties including:
• Maintaining electronic administration and financial records
• Monitoring income from Clients and Councils and making payments to Care Providers
• Processing and Monitoring of Leavers documentation
• Supporting clients to keep up to date with Client Contribution payments
• Liaising with Local Authority Social care and Audit and monitoring teams
• Identify and work with The Operations Manager Contracts for any process and procedural changes that may be required to ensure the constant improvements and development of Financial Controls and the Delivery of the Service.
• Carry out visits with individuals, their families and carers (usually in their home) to explain the process and provide advice and information on how direct payments can be used to buy the support services needed.
General requirements of the post-holder:
• Full clean UK driver’s license and business cover insurance is essential.
• The ability to travel extensively throughout the Borough to deliver the role.
