Independent Social Worker (Form F Assessor) (Grade 8)
Description
We are currently seeking an Independent Social Worker (Form F Assessor) (Grade 8) to join our team. As an Independent Social Worker, you will be responsible for conducting assessments and evaluations to determine the suitability of prospective foster carers. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that children and young people in need of care and protection are placed in safe and supportive environments.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of prospective foster carers, following the prescribed Form F assessment format.
Gather information from various sources, including interviews, home visits, and written reports, to form a comprehensive assessment.
Analyze and evaluate all relevant information to make informed recommendations regarding the suitability of prospective foster carers.
Write timely and detailed assessment reports, including recommendations for approval or disapproval of foster carer applications.
Liaise and collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, psychologists, and medical practitioners, to gather all necessary information for assessments.
Attend regular supervision sessions to discuss cases, seek guidance, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments and other relevant documentation.
Requirements
A degree in Social Work or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience working as a Social Worker, preferably in the field of fostering or adoption.
Knowledge and understanding of the Form F assessment process and relevant legislation.
Excellent assessment, analytical, and report writing skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of individuals and build rapport.
Ability to work independently and manage a demanding workload.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
Registered with social care Wales,
Live within a radius of 40 miles of Cardiff
Previous fostering experience including completion of form f’s
We are looking for a pool of assessors and we will contact agencies as and when required.
Visits will need to be carried out face to face
Foster Wales Cardiff, the in house fostering service are seeking social workers with at least 3 years experience to complete Coram Baaf Form F assessments. We are looked for appropriately skilled and experienced qualified social workers to assess and prepare prospective Foster Carers for presentation to panel and their Fostering journey.
Attendance at panel is required to present the assessment with Panel being held on a Wednesday. You will need to be able to work under your own initiative but will receive supervision for the assessment and regular check ins with your supervisor.
The will be a requirement to visit people in line with the assessment.
Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £19.81
