We are currently seeking a Principal Pharmacist for Infection Managementto join our dedicated pharmacy team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced pharmacist to play a pivotal role in managing infection control strategies and delivering expert pharmaceutical care within the Trust.
The Principal Pharmacist for Infection Management will lead and develop infection management services within the Trust, providing expert advice and guidance to multidisciplinary teams on the appropriate use of antimicrobials. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines across the Trust, supporting infection prevention and control initiatives, and ensuring compliance with national and local guidelines.
As part of your role, you will also be involved in clinical governance, education and training, audit, and research initiatives to improve patient safety and outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a team of highly skilled professionals in a fast-paced and varied environment.

You will be a vital leader within the pharmacy service in our Trust and the principal pharmacist for Infection management.
You will:
Work to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s (RPS) Core Advanced Pharmacist Curriculum*.
This includes:
• Take professional responsibility for the provision of a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to the designated (CBU) / Specialty area and associated clinical areas and wards to meet their goals.
• Act as line manager as shown in the organisational structure chart.
• Provide expert clinical and service information to support departmental operational service development and strategic planning.
