Darlington Borough Council is looking to recruit a permanent Housing Manager to join the Housing Services team. Housing Services are committed to delivering excellent service to our Council tenants and making real changes for them.
As Housing Manager, you will join our existing management structure within Housing Services and will have direct responsibility for our Income Management and Housing Contact teams. You will provide direct leadership and operational steer to these departments specifically and will support the wider Housing Services teams. You will support the strategic leadership of the service, deputising for the Head of Service and providing cover for other Housing Managers as required.
The Housing Manager is an integral part of the Housing team, leading teams, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and regulatory compliance.
The role would suit a self-motivated, proactive and enthusiastic team player with strong communication skills, a proven background in social housing and a drive to deliver excellent service to Council tenants. A housing-related qualification or the willingness to work towards one is required, along with strong leadership skills and experience of managing busy front-line teams.
