Overview
This role is part of a Future Teacher initiative designed for graduates looking to gain academic mentoring experience. As a Graduate Academic Mentor, you will support the academic progress of pupils while learning the intricacies of classroom management and curriculum delivery. This role provides an excellent foundation for a career in education.
Key Responsibilities
* Academic Support: Deliver targeted academic interventions in designated subjects, working closely with students who require extra support.
* Lesson Collaboration: Assist in the preparation and delivery of lessons, ensuring that instructional material is accessible and engaging.
* Monitoring & Reporting: Keep detailed records of student progress, offering insights and suggestions during team meetings and feedback sessions.
* Mentorship: Participate in a mentorship programme with experienced teachers, gaining valuable insights into classroom management and teaching strategies.
* Resource Management: Help develop and organise educational resources and materials to support effective learning.
Qualifications & Experience
* A degree in a relevant subject area, with a demonstrated interest in educational development.
* Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to assess student needs and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
* Prior experience in tutoring, mentoring, or working with young people is an advantage.
* A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving and teaching challenges.
