Position Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Technician to work within the Airedale Engineering team. This role would be ideal for someone with a production background looking to gain experience in mechanical engineering. You will be required to produce customer specific mechanical drawings and manufacturing information for the Hyperscale, Colocation and Commercial and Industrial teams. You will also be required to assist Engineering, Controls, Service, Spares and Sales with mechanical information for special quotations.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce customer specific mechanical arrangement drawings and 3D pipework schematics.
* Produce accurate parts lists.
* Provide build information for manufacturing.
* Ability to source appropriate components.
* Ability to work to deadlines.
* Assist & liaise with electrical and controls engineers.
* Communicate clearly with both internal & external customers.
* Create files of all necessary documentation.
* Attend & support project meetings.
* Assist in Total Quality projects.
Required Education & Qualifications
* Mechanical manufacturing experience preferred.
* ONC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Ability to produce high quality accurate information.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience of the following software:
o AutoCAD
o Solid Edge
o SAP
o Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Although a high base level of Mechanical CAD knowledge is expected, training will be provided for the right applicant to develop the skills & knowledge required for the position.
