Location: Wokingham, Berkshire
Days & Hours: 6 hours on a Friday from 9am-3pm
Pay: £17.00 per hour, Weekdays and£18.00 per hour, Weekends and Bank Holidays
Driver required? Essential, will be using the family car
Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? Yes, on duty and to attend training.
Essential Experience: Experience/understanding of working with adults with cognitive and physical disabilities, however full training can be provided.
Desirable: Experience of working with stroke victims (this is preferred but enthusiasm, patience and willingness to learn is essential).
Pets: The family have 1 dog, rabbits and guinea pigs

David was born in, and lives with his family who are very important to him and he enjoys family outings and spending time with his children. David has a very kind nature and enjoys being outdoors, riding his recumbent bike and playing golf. He is a good cook and very good company to be around. He likes to be notified of any changes of plans or appointments in a timely manner. He is not always aware of his fatigue and requires support to monitor this.David was in a car accident and suffered a stroke. Prior to this he led a very active life and is now looking for a Buddy/Support Worker to assist him in engaging and participating in leisure activities and to access the community, particularly golf, dog walking and going to the gym, to provide him with support to carry out his therapy programmes, including his exercise programme. David is looking for someone who is patient, a good listener, has a good sense of humour and is fun to be with, along with having an interest in golf.
This role will be a good fit for you if you enjoy being active and enjoy partaking in a variety of outdoor sporting activities/outdoor pursuits. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated person to join a dedicated home care team and develop existing skills and support this very special man. A truly rewarding role for someone who is able to communicate effectively and has an ability to work with tact, understanding, warmth and compassion.
Pay and Benefits:
1. £17.00 per hour, Weekdays and £18.00 per hour, Weekends and Bank Holiday
2. 5.6 weeks holiday (pro rata)
