Main duties of the job We are looking for a Band 5 registrant to join a team of hard-working nurses who can deliver care of a high standard across all streams within a UTC. The Restricted hour Emergency department sees 30,000 new patients each year. We expect our new UTC will see much more in excess of this. We will be seeing a great mix of patients including acute medical patients and minor injuries as well as providing an appointment stream. Duties for this post will include clinical duties such as assessing, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care and supporting colleagues in care provision. Working with and leading the multi-disciplinary team, you will need to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to motivate and manage, adapting to rapidly changing situations. We are looking for a RN/RSCN level 1 nurse with post registration experience at Band 5 level. We are also able to consider applications from dual trained staff with an RSCN qualification. You must have good organisational skills, the ability to communicate in difficult and challenging situation, and have an understanding of emergency clinical management and emergency patient flow. Applicants must be flexible in shift working pattern to cover a 24/7 service.
