The Role As Operations Manager, you will be a key leader in driving excellence across our catering and hospitality services. Working alongside a core team of five, you will ensure that race days and non-race events run smoothly, maintaining the highest standards of service, quality, and guest satisfaction. You’ll be responsible for leading a team of managers, supervisors, and front-line operational staff to create unforgettable experiences at both venues. Key Responsibilities: Deliver World-Class Experiences – Oversee catering operations to ensure high-quality food, service, and guest satisfaction. Leadership & Team Development – Motivate and manage a team of casual managers, supervisors, and front-line staff, ensuring high levels of engagement and performance. Operational Excellence – Coordinate all aspects of food and drink service, from planning to execution, while adhering to health and safety regulations. Innovation & Growth – Stay ahead of industry trends, ensuring our offerings are market-leading and reflective of the racecourses’ status as top sporting venues. Commercial Performance – Monitor business performance, budget effectively, and make sound commercial decisions to drive profitability. Recruitment & Training – Work closely with staffing representatives to attract and retain top talent while implementing effective training programs. Stakeholder & Supplier Management – Build strong relationships with clients, customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations and outstanding service. What We’re Looking For: Passionate Hospitality Leader – A natural people-person with a flair for delivering exceptional guest experiences. Proven Experience – A strong background in F&B management, event catering, and hospitality operations (experience in large-scale leisure venues is a plus). Multi-Site Experience – Ability to manage operations across multiple venues, balancing quality dining, event catering, and fast-paced retail food delivery. Commercial Acumen – Strong budgeting, forecasting, and resource management skills to maximise profitability without compromising quality. Outstanding Communication Skills – Confident in liaising with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure seamless event execution. Adaptability & Resilience – Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, remain calm under pressure, and lead a team through change.
