FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT - Hybrid working THE ROLE: Reporting to the Finance Director, the purpose of this role is to manage and ensure the effective and efficient development and execution of internal key financial processes and systems, compliance with financial controls and relevant and timely statutory reporting. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Manage, motivate and provide on the job training for 4 members of staff to ensure their objectives are successfully achieved and the smooth running of the UK ledger functions with the application of financial controls especially in relation to cash management. Produce tax and regulatory reports to ensure compliance with national legislation e.g. VAT, National Statistics, withholding taxes in compliance with Government legislation to meet mandatory requirements. Responsible for the correct and timely submissions of the business as well as US Tax returns Responsible for overseeing the cash-flow process from banking administration to daily banking reports and short term forecasting. Accountable for the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules for the business worldwide to ensure accurate reporting of capital expenditure to aid budget holders to control the level of spend in line with the latest budgets. Responsible for the accounting and forecasting of salaries and commissions (UK, USA & Netherlands). Ensure good financial control and compliance across the business to ensure assets are safeguarded and ensure integrity of financial information (e.g. Balance Sheet Account reconciliations) Reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure assets and liabilities are correctly identified and appropriate actions taken. Ensure compliance with accounting procedures to satisfy audit requirements. Consolidate the Annual report and Financial Statements. Initiate and lead system and process improvements as appropriate. Provide ad hoc reports and analysis as required. ABOUT YOU: Knowledge & Skills Advanced competency with spreadsheet and word processing packages and finance systems Knowledge of International Accounting Standards Strong financial accounting experience including fixed asset accounting, VAT returns, withholding taxes, balance sheet reconciliations Demonstrate strong people management experience Demonstrable experience of process development and implementation.
