About the role We have a great opportunity for a Lead Procurement Manager to join a successful team, to help lead and develop various elements of the Property category including developing the strategy for Distribution Automation which will require working alongside technology, distribution and property colleagues. We're looking for an experienced procurement manager thatwillbeworking closely with oursenior colleagues within the business to create, build, and develop category plans in line with Tesco's key objectives You will be responsible for Delivering high savings targets through implementation of robust sourcing events, ensuring that suppliers meet all operational requirements whilst providing the best value for Tesco. Ensuringpositive relationships with suppliers & colleagues to support, endorse and deliver plans aligned to category procurement strategies to realise business savings and support innovation. Developing and delivering procurement strategies, which truly support the Tesco business objectives. Writing and delivering the procurement category plan for Distribution Automation. Consistently tracking and report on savings targets for specified sub-categories using the agreed process. Leading supplier reviews, acting as the point of contact for contract-related issues. Assess the opportunity to improvescale and work with Tesco International teams and subsidiary business. Reviewing existing and potential new suppliers and assess their sustainability to supply Tesco, minimising risk, and optimising service. Using good judgement, build new and develop existing supplier relationships to ensure continued suitability and buildgreater value across the organisation. You will need Procurement expertise with a background in managing GSNFR categories preferable. Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and mentor a team of 2 Procurement Managers. Experience in developing talent to grow our capability with creative and ambitious opportunities. Procurement management, contract management and negotiation skills, experience of managing large multi-million pound sourcing events. Ability to bring new concepts and ideas to life, and bring senior colleagues on board. Capability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, driving innovation across the category.
