Job overview
This role is part of a redesign of the senior management structure at the Princess Alexandra NHS Trust.
The post holder will provide leadership for the MRI departments within PAH and at the CDC hub at St. Margaret’s Hospital, delivering high quality clinical care and ensuring optimum use of staffing and equipment resources, as well as promoting continuous improvement in service delivery and quality to improve productivity through redesign and best practice. They will demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise within the modality providing advice, education and support to other staff and stakeholders.

The role will predominantly provide MRI clinical expertise to ensure the smooth running of the department. Due to the senior nature of this role, the individual will be expected to line manage the MRI radiographer team, which will involve undertaking appraisals, sickness and absence management, booking of MRI staff annual leave, and the production of the MRI team rotas. It is expected that the post holder has an astute understanding of the safety and governance rules within the areas they are working in. They will also be expected to work alongside the radiology management to develop policies, protocols and procedures so that the department meets the standards set by CQC, as well as working with the Radiology Control team to ensure that the department is compliant in key performance indicators. Attendance at departmental meetings is also required.
