Maintenance Engineer
Goole - Up to £40k - Mon to Fri (2pm finish on Fridays)
Our client in Goole is keen to recruit an electrically and mechanically skilled maintenance engineer to strengthen a small maintenance team who maintain and repair all machinery and equipment on site to minimize production downtime and meet customer demand.
The duties of the Maintenance Engineer include:
1. Controlling the In-House Preventative Maintenance System, working alongside another maintenance engineer and apprentices as well as alone, ensuring all PPM's are up to date.
2. Reviewing existing processes, with a view to offering improvement suggestions.
3. The repair of machinery that has been reported as 'broken down' in a timely manner while meeting the requirements for health and safety.
4. Working with production team leaders and operators to provide engineering solutions to facilitate continuous improvement throughout the business.
5. Collaborating with non-operational departments to ensure that any maintenance requirements are resolved.
6. Being able to work under own initiative as well as with other members of the team, including the engineering supervisor and engineering apprentice.
7. Acting as a mentor for the engineering apprentice as and when required.
Maintenance Engineer Requirements:
As well as being mechanically and electrically experienced, the Maintenance Engineer will be apprentice trained (or equivalent), ideally with 17th or 18th Edition Regulations, C&G Inspection and Testing, as well as experience in 3 Phase and Single Phase Motors, Panel Wiring, the ability to diagnose PLC faults, and knowledge of Conveyor Systems and Inverters, and ideally Labellers and Printers.
You will be computer literate with a logical approach to problem-solving and be able to diagnose faults and carry out corrective activities. You will have a positive approach to work and commitment to continuous improvement. In order for you to pick up parts from time to time, you must have a UK Driving License to drive the company vehicle.
The company: You will be joining a small, but busy manufacturing and production operation where you will find security in a supportive and friendly environment. This company manufactures, packs, and repacks chemical powders and liquids. You will be maintaining plant equipment including filling, blending, and packaging machines.
