Soft Landscaping and Fencing, Supervisor
Salary: £34,000 to £38,000
Location: Plymouth
Type: Permanent, Monday to Friday, 45 hours pw, 7:00am to 5:00pm
These are Full Time, Permanent, Employed positions. You are paid for ALL working days plus Holiday Pay and Sick Pay. You are paid for your time travelling to site and there is overtime at a higher rate!
You will have an important role in one of the most successful Landscape companies in the South West, a company that invests in staff training and promotes internally wherever possible.
This role is 80% Landscaping “on the tools” and 20% administration and management, looking after 3 or 4 soft landscaping schemes. You will spend 4 days a week on site and usually 1 day in the office. Your projects will be the “icing on the cake” for some of the most prestigious new build housing developments. Your work will ensure that these projects make the finest impression on prospective buyers and new owners. The role will use all your Soft Landscaping abilities and give you the opportunity to develop new skills and qualifications.
The Job:
Teams are based from the depot outside Plymouth, and you will either start from there or drive the company van from home directly to sites across the South West. You are paid from 7:00am to 5:00pm daily, not when you arrive on site!
As a Landscape Supervisor, you will be working alongside and supervising Team Leaders and Operatives on site. You will ensure that all works for your allocated projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest of standards. You will have good communication skills and be able to negotiate with clients and staff at all levels in a professional and fair manner. Health & Safety issues will always be a top priority.
Responsibilities:
1. Using Plans and Planting Diagrams to accurately create Landscaping schemes
2. Liaising with site managers, subcontractors, designers, and operatives
3. Agreeing extra works and undertaking on-site assessments
4. Helping to resolve any client or supplier disputes
5. Assist with the procurement of materials and equipment
6. Turfing
7. Barking / Mulching
8. Tree and shrub planting
9. Fencing
10. Making sure that completed work is recorded and reported
11. Communicating any issues or problems with your Contracts Manager
12. Notification of any H&S issues, Observations or Accidents in line with company procedures
13. Making sure you and all of your teams have the correct uniform and PPE
14. Ensuring that all vehicles and machinery that you use are in good order and safe to operate
15. Making sure that all tools and equipment are well maintained, clean, and serviceable
The Person:
1. A current CSCS Card is ESSENTIAL
2. Current Driving Licence is ESSENTIAL
3. A minimum of two years previous experience in Landscaping is essential, and a broad range of Landscaping skills would be extremely useful.
4. A SSSTS qualification would be useful
