The Emergency Department Advanced Practitioner Pharmacist post is well established since 2013 and considered an essential part of the Emergency Department team. If successful you will be the lead pharmacist across two Type 1 Emergency Departments, and two busy Urgent Care Centres, receiving an average of over 650 non-elective patients per day. You will be joining a dynamic team to lead, deliver, further develop, manage and evaluate services to the Adult and Paediatric Emergency Departments and work with the wider front of house team across two Admissions Units, Short Stay Ward and Same Day Emergency Care. Our Admissions Units benefit from a multi-level pharmacy service incorporating Pharmacy Technicians, Trainee, Junior and Senior Pharmacists and an embedded 7 day Admissions Unit Practitioner Pharmacist Service. Across the wider pharmacy team we have an expansive team of pharmacists working across two main sites which benefit from many specialist services. Main duties of the job This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated pharmacist with a strong clinical background to further develop transformative pharmacy services and to contribute to the training and teaching of staff both within and outside the Pharmacy Department. The post provides many opportunities for personal and professional development in clinical, research, strategic and managerial skills. The successful applicant will have significant hospital clinical pharmacist experience with evidence of effective service delivery at a specialist pharmacist level, post-graduate study to diploma level, well-developed clinical pharmacy skills with an independent prescribing qualification and evidence of advanced clinical skills development. You will have experience of working as part of a team, excellent interpersonal skills, a strong desire to learn and a meticulous attention to detail.
