Position Overview We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Packaging Operations Manager to coordinate weekly shift operations across our Packaging group. In this critical role, you will collaborate closely with other production groups and support departments, including Engineering, HR, and QA, to manage activities effectively and optimise resource utilisation. Key Responsibilities Operational Coordination: Oversee weekly shift operations, ensuring effective collaboration between production groups and functional departments for seamless workflow. Strategic Planning: Partner with fellow Production Managers to address strategic initiatives and manage long-term issues, particularly those impacting the first six months of operational planning, including facility changes and development projects. Leadership & Development: Inspire and lead operational staff by implementing robust training and appraisal processes. Use advanced coaching techniques to foster professional growth and ensure development plans align with the PMP system. Continuous Improvement: Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization. Drive programs that identify opportunities and support controlled change initiatives, focusing on business improvement goals while maintaining compliance in SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) and QO (Quality Operations). Quality Assurance: Work closely with the Quality team to maintain compliance with corporate and regulatory standards. Respond promptly to any deviations and implement corrective actions, ensuring thorough investigations and revisions to procedures to prevent future occurrences. Performance Standards: Establish and enforce acceptable standards of behavior and performance. Collaborate effectively with team members, including the Packaging Administrator and Packaging Coordinator, to resolve any operational issues in a timely manner. Team Communication: Keep staff informed of site issues and developments through regular monthly briefings covering organisational and management topics. Project Leadership: Take on designated roles in department or site-wide projects as agreed upon with the Business Unit Leader. Requirements: Proven experience in packaging or production management. Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on employee development. Strong analytical abilities and experience with performance data analysis. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Proficient in operational compliance and quality assurance processes.
