The Maintenance Technician will make sure all kitchen equipment and facilities are working properly. This includes fixing problems, performing routine maintenance, and keeping everything safe and clean. This role is important for keeping the kitchen running smoothly and meeting food safety rules.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct routine maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of equipment and facilities in the central kitchen.
* Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on food processing machinery, refrigeration units, ovens, and other kitchen equipment.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues to minimize downtime and maintain food safety standards.
* Coordinate with kitchen staff to schedule maintenance activities during off-peak hours to minimize disruption to production.
* Monitor and maintain inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and supplies needed for maintenance tasks.
* Implement cleaning and sanitation procedures for equipment and work areas to meet food safety regulations.
* Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment and machinery as needed.
* Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
* Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in maintenance.
* Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician in a commercial kitchen or food production facility.
* Strong knowledge of food processing equipment, including mixers, slicers, grinders, and industrial dishwashers.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and management.
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Knowledge of food processing equipment such as mixers, slicers, grinders, and dishwashers.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Good communication skills and teamwork with kitchen staff and managers.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
* Understanding of safety procedures and food industry maintenance standards.
