Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen on Ward 12 at the North Tyneside General Hospital. We require a band 6 deputy ward manager to join our team. Ward 12 is an innovative and forward thinking, 23 bedded Care of the Elderly Ward. We are looking for candidates who have a commitment to ensuring safe and high-quality care is delivered to our patients, as well as being a role model and supporting our junior workforce. On Ward 12 there is a strong focus on multidisciplinary team working, to ensure safe and timely patient discharges or transfers to appropriate care settings. You will be expected to work as part of a dynamic nursing team, delivering all aspects of care to patients and have excellent communication skills. As part of this role you will be required to coordinate the ward and also support the Ward Manager. The successful candidates will gain a wide range of clinical and managerial experience. Previous experience in a similar setting is desirable, but not essential. Main duties of the job The main purpose of the role is to assist, plan and evaluate nursing care working as a member of the multidisciplinary team under the supervision of the ward manager. You will also be responsible for the organizing and co-ordination of the nursing services in the absence of the ward manager, lead a team of nurses and be innovative.
