The practice is looking to fill a part-time position, consisting of 30 hours per week, however there is a degree of flexibility with this.
It would be beneficial to be proficient in chronic disease management, immunisations and cytology although not essential as training can be provided in those areas.
The day structure is flexible depending on the candidate.

The successful applicant will preferably have practice nurse experience in Chronic Disease Management, general treatment room duties, baby immunisations, cytology and travel health would be desirable although not essential.

Job summary:
Assisting medical personnel in the care of practice patients, to include treatment, preventative care, screening and patient education.
Job responsibilities include:
1. Providing assessment, screening and treatment services and health education advice.
2. Organising and coordinating the provision of nursing services for the practice.
3. Providing nursing treatments to patients in participation with general practitioners or independently, meeting agreed protocols.
4. Providing general and specific health screenings to practice patients (within agreed protocols) with referral to general practitioners as necessary.
5. Advising patients on general health care and minor ailments with referral to GPs as necessary.
6. Maintaining supplies and equipment in the treatment room and other areas.
7. Ensuring the maintenance of equipment and stock levels relating to patient care.
8. Collecting, storing and dispatching pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, smears etc., and ensuring the cleanliness of any equipment used.
9. Participating in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the practice team.
10. Ensuring accurate notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in the patients' notes on the clinical computer system as appropriate.

* Nursing degree and RCN registered.
Experience
* Previous experience of practice nursing/proficient in undertaking chronic disease management, cytology & children immunisations would be beneficial although not essential as training can be provided for the ideal candidate.
