The External Investing Group ("XIG") provides investors with investment and advisory solutions, across leading hedge fund managers, private equity funds, real estate managers, public equity strategies and fixed ie strategies. XIG manages globally diversified programs, targeted sector-specific strategies, customized portfolios, and a range of advisory services. Our investors access opportunities through new fundmitments, fund-of-fund investments, strategic partnerships, secondary-market investments, co-investments, and seed-capital investments. With over 350 professionals across 11 offices around the world, XIG provides manager diligence, portfolio construction, risk management, and liquidity solutions to investors, drawing on Goldman Sachs' market insights and risk management expertise. 1. Lead activities with the growing Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) EMEA business across key offices in London, Switzerland, Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the Middle East; PWM ultra-high net worth clients can be either individuals or family offices
2. Develop relationships with EMEA private wealth advisors and key PWM stakeholder groups to understand client needs
3. Attend prospective and existing client meetings to discuss XIG public market views and platform offerings via in-person client meetings, calls and portfolio reviews
4. Represent XIG in PWM-wide presentations
5. Develop and evaluate new product/asset class ideas with client demand assessments and oversee the fund onboarding process
6. Actively fundraise for the external manager platform by connecting with private wealth advisors, as well as their clients; Define and achieve established fundraising goals annually
7. Assist junior team with analytical work, creation of marketing materials, portfolio construction analysis and strategic initiatives, including working with PWM on implementation of regulatory projects
8. Ability to work with XIG colleagues across the US, EMEA and Asia
Qualifications
9. 8-12 years of professional experience in the asset management industry
10. Specific public equity and fixed ie background and experience preferred
11. Strong interest in capital markets, asset management, and understanding of traditional asset classes
12. Excellent analytical, presentation,munication and interpersonal skills
13. Strong organizational skills to oversee production of a high volume of quality work within tight timeframes, often including multiple simultaneous projects
14. Attention to detail - proven experience of delivering high levels of accuracy
15. Knowledge and understanding of Excel, PowerPoint and Word and adaptability to other software products
