Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dietitian to join our paediatric team and lead on cystic fibrosis. The post is based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital however travel to the Alexandra Hospital (or other locations may be needed. We are a proactive Dietetic department made up of 26 dietitians working within specialty teams. We have excellent links within MDTs in the Trust. Main duties of the job To act as an expert autonomous Dietitian to plan, develop and contribute to the delivery and service improvement of the Paediatric Nutrition and Dietetic service provided to Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust. To be responsible for providing and running the expert dietetic care for paediatric inpatients on the acute paediatric wards and outpatient clinics To undertake a team leader role dealing with the day-to-day operational issues and staffing for the paediatric dietetic specialty group. To provide supervision, support and education to qualified staff. To act as lead paediatric specialist working with the MDT to deliver a high-quality service to patients both inpatient and outpatient. To be responsible for clinical caseload, supervising, co-ordinating and allocating work to the team. To develop and review standards, policies, resources and other improvement activities relating to the specialist services associated within paediatrics, within the Dietetic profession and across the Trust. To supervise and develop the more junior staff. To take a leading role in carrying out specialist assessments, evidence-based treatment and management of paediatric patients who may present with complex and /or chronic health needs that require specialist support and advice. To be recognised as an expert source of knowledge in the field of paediatrics, leading on development of clinical guidelines, resources and education packages.
