Job Description Associate Director, Data Strategy Our Destination “Computing the future of medicine” We are integrating the latest advances in data science and artificial intelligence to develop life-transforming RNA interference (RNAi) medicines. We combine cutting-edge computation and AI with RNAi to make better medicines faster. Our unique approach enables us to differentiate, de-risk, and rapidly deploy our enabling platforms (HepNet™ and GalOmic™) to create novel GalNAc-siRNA therapies, improving upon traditional approaches to drug discovery. Our rapid and reproducible process has produced a broad therapeutic pipeline of GalOmic™ RNAi therapies targeting novel genes that have demonstrated disease-modifying potential in preclinical disease models. We are advancing our pipeline towards the clinic, with our most advanced asset (ETX-312, for the treatment of MASH) currently undergoing IND-enabling studies, the final stage of preclinical development. As Associate Director, Data Strategy you will play a crucial role in defining and optimising how data drives groundbreaking advancements in medicine discovery and delivery. You will bring an innovative approach and deep expertise in data design, strategy, governance, and infrastructure, leading cross-functional teams to transform and elevate the organisation’s use of data. Reporting to the VP, Head of Applied AI & Informatics, you will drive enterprise-wide initiatives to develop and execute data strategies that enable next-generation research and development, fostering innovation and unlocking the full potential of data to shape the future of the industry. The position is based in our office in Paddington, London, UK. The working hours for this role are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. What you will do Supported by the VP, Applied AI & Informatics define and execute a data strategy aligned with business and technical goals, focusing on scalable, future-proof infrastructure and efficient workflows Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership and mentor technical teams, fostering a data-driven culture across the organisation Collaborate with biologists, business teams, engineers, and AI experts to integrate data systems and uncover new resources and connections that advance the organisation’s vision Continuously evaluate and integrate emerging data technologies to modernise infrastructure and improve efficiency Oversee the design and implementation of data governance, validation frameworks, and metadata management to ensure data quality, traceability, and compliance, keeping systems audit-ready Ensure robust data security and privacy, particularly for sensitive or regulated data, while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements Develop and maintain ETL pipelines and workflows, delivering optimised, well-structured data for model training and supporting all teams effectively Liaise with the legal team to negotiate and manage data licensing agreements, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions Skills & qualifications Experience in executing long-term data strategies that integrate large scale enterprise-wide scientific data into a cohesive framework aligned with organisational goals Proven ability to align data initiatives across engineering, platform, and AI teams, fostering collaboration and consistent data strategies Sound experience defining and implementing data governance frameworks, quality control measures, and data lifecycle management to support decision-making, R&D, and product development while ensuring regulatory compliance Skilled in designing scalable, cloud-enabled data architectures and distributed systems to support large-scale datasets, AI models, and platform integration Experienced in managing change within data systems, including platform transitions, tool implementations, and agile methodology adoption to maintain adaptability Proficient in enforcing data privacy and security measures in line with industry standards, including encryption and access controls Proven leadership in guiding cross-functional teams and fostering a data-driven culture while mentoring technical staff Adept at evaluating and integrating emerging data technologies to ensure infrastructure remains modern and effective Nice to have: Cloud experience with AWS for storage, computing, and building cloud-native data architectures Prior experience in biotech or similarly complex domains where data is diverse and used for a variety of purposes (R&D, clinical, operational) Our culture & values Our success starts & ends with our team – the passionate, curious and collaborative individuals who work here.
