The Sales Manager will lead a team of 7 Virtual Account Managers responsible for driving sales within the 25-100 vehicle fleet sector. Additionally, the Sales Manager will oversee a Team Manager in charge of a Sales Development team, a business centre and a direct selling team. Responsibilities To lead, manage, and drive the performance of the sales and sales development teams to achieve sales targets and provide exceptional customer experience and client satisfaction. The Sales Manager acts as a bridge between ROI senior management, client and the sales team, aligning team activities with broader business objectives. Accountable for setting and achieving sales goals, performance standards including quality and all key results, sales coaching and development, and ultimately delighting ROI’s client and their customers with the service provided. Sales Leadership and Team Management Establish and clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and strategies that are in line with client objectives. Organise and plan workloads, incorporating a regular cadence of individual and team meetings that encourage discipline, accountability, and information sharing. Inspire and propel sales activity throughout the sales team, setting a challenging pace that pushes the limits of performance and guarantees consistent engagement with corporate fleet decision makers. Ensure the sales team adheres strictly to the sales process, effectively engaging with corporate fleet decision makers, qualifying their needs, identifying opportunities, and establishing discount agreements that meet their fleet requirements. Hold regular, informal team meetings to foster open communication and a culture of openly discussing performance and sharing insights. Offer hands-on support and coaching on sales activities, assisting with the qualification of complex or strategic opportunities and the successful conclusion of deals. Performance Monitoring Track and analyse the team’s sales performance using KPIs, sales data and reporting to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement with data-led decision Monitor the sales pipeline and forecast sales progress, reacting to potential shortfalls and ensuring targets are met and opportunities are maximised Where performance falls short of targets, conduct root cause analysis to determine underlying issues. This could involve reviewing individual performance, process inefficiencies or market conditions Regular review and development of performance incentive programmes to make sure they are aligned with measurable outcomes that drive performance Sales Reporting Prepare and present detailed sales reports to clients and ROI senior management, highlighting successes, challenges and future strategies Training and Development Provide regular feedback and coaching to the Virtual Account Managers and Team Manager on their performance and development areas to help them grow and reach their potential Conduct full individual 121 performance reviews with Virtual Account Managers at least once per quarter, with shorter health-check reviews at least once per month Co-create a full Work and Development Plan (WDP) for the Team Manager, tracking and discussing progress in 121s at least once per quarter Take a hands-on approach to new starter onboarding and inductions, delivering orientation training and providing follow-up coaching to business-led training modules Client Collaboration Attend meetings with client stakeholders, helping to articulate value in every meeting Act as a point of contact for sales performance updates, tactical discussions and troubleshooting Technology Adoption Champion and drive the proficient use of Sales Navigator as a tool for networking and outreach Champion and drive the proficient use of Scheduling Automation Software to support calendar bookings Champion and drive the adoption of emerging Generative AI and other AI assistance tools to support sales activities and enhance sales workflows Internal Collaboration and Cross-Functional Communication Attend and contribute to Project Town-Hall meetings at least once per quarter to drum up morale, inspire action and maintain alignment on key initiatives or changes across the project Compliance, Risk Management and Information Security Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, as well as internal policies and procedures What are we looking for? Sales Strategy and Planning Demonstrated success in a sales leadership role, with a focus on team management and sales strategy execution. Expertise in developing sales strategies tailored to automotive corporate B2B, including market analysis, opportunity management and sales process optimisation Team Motivation and Development/ Leadership and Team Management: Experience of leading high performing sales teams Experience of leading desk-based or inside sales teams Experience of guiding and managing other managers Strong capability in leading and developing sales teams and other managers to maximise their potential and achieve set objectives.
