The Child Maintenance Service helps parents, who are unable to make a private financial agreement in support of their child(ren)’s living costs, ensure and at times enforce, the legal responsibility to provide financial support. Our mission is to ‘get money to children’ because it makes a real difference to children’s lives.
Child Maintenance Service is not only undergoing a significant period of change as we drive forward our transformation agenda, but in tandem, we continue to deliver a politically significant and fundamentally crucial service to millions of separated families around the country who depend upon the work we do. There are two types of position available
Performance Briefing & Insight Manager
To lead and support performance discussions with senior operational leaders, line of business leaders, stakeholders, contractor and operation leaders. To support and/or partner with others to conduct performance investigations into line of business service delivery gaps/issues ensuring solutions provide value for money. To produce briefing, profiles, reporting packs and performance insight and analysis.
Identify and flag performance risks and failure demand ensuring that action is taken to address, prevent or ameliorate risk.
Ensure briefings and presentations are of high quality.
Key Responsibilities
Monitoring performance, researching and investigating performance related issues.
Providing delivery of high quality reporting and presentation of performance results.
Engagement, collaboration and negotiation with key stakeholders both internal and external to DWP in order to capitalise on improvement opportunities, drive timescales and facilitate positive outcomes.
Challenge Policy and current practices and processes through engagement with frontline colleagues, developing a culture of innovation and taking generated ideas through to implementation.
Support the CMS Senior Leadership team by supplying and analysing collated performance MI, conducting trend analysis and anticipating hotspots, making recommendations for improvements and highlighting compliance issues.
Represent CMS Senior Leaders, as required, making sound recommendations and decisions that are future proofed, appropriate and efficient.
Work effectively with Performance Business Partners to help achieve organisational objectives.
Operational Resource Planner
The role of an Operational Resource Planner involves supporting operational delivery as a Business Partner, working closely with CMS operational leaders to produce data and information to support with making sound resource decisions. The role includes the development of Workforce Plans aimed at identifying and addressing risks, challenges and opportunities. The development and analysis of information and data to support resourcing across the business is key to the role. Along with building strong working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a full understanding of business needs and resourcing requirements, stakeholder engagement is required with a range of business partners and subject experts from across the Department. As resources are at the core of delivering CMS business, this essential role is fast paced and varied with a high level of impact.
Key Responsibilities
Support the CMS Senior Leadership Team by providing analysis and development of robust Management Information and resource data to provide an accurate view of resourcing and identify opportunities and risks, making sound recommendations and decisions.
Provide effective stakeholder engagement via collaboration and influencing, through communications with senior leaders, directors and business partners in the wider DWP to facilitate positive business outcomes.
Leading discussions and delivering complex information in a clear and concise way, providing recommendations, identifying challenges and opportunities and facilitating resource decisions within the business, whilst understanding the sensitivities and impacts on our people.
Managing ad hoc requests from senior leaders for information to support resourcing decisions, often in a fast paced environment.
Providing regular delivery of high quality reporting and briefing to a wide range of stakeholders.
