United Living Infrastructure Services is made up of our three subsidiaries, United Living Energy Limited, United Living Water Limited and Great British Communications.
United Living Energy is a UK gas and energy engineering specialist offering design, build and maintenance on critical national infrastructure for the UK gas asset owners. United Living Water Limited provides a comprehensive range of water infrastructure services covering all aspects of pipeline networks including investigation, design, planning infrastructure maintenance, mains rehabilitation, new connections, metering and repairs. United Living Fixed Line Telecoms provides construction of networks including cabling, splicing and testing on networks.
Purpose:
To be responsible for the installation of mains and services to required standards.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Maintain own and others' health and safety.
2. Carry out safety checks and inspections to vehicles, plant, equipment and sites as instructed.
3. Follow health and hygiene rules.
4. Ensure that work is undertaken with due regard to the environment: prevent contamination to water supplies and water courses; maintain site cleanliness; prevent spills; minimise disturbance to members of the public; avoid damage to trees; dispose of waste only as authorised.
5. Excavate holes using safe digging methods to avoid damage to underground utility apparatus.
6. Manhandle materials, plant and equipment.
7. Install pipes and fittings to the appropriate standards ensuring, in particular, that good jointing and hygiene practices are followed.
8. Drive Company vehicles with due regard to the Road Traffic Act and other road users for authorised business purposes.
9. Operate mobile plant for authorised business purposes.
10. Maintain site, vehicle, plant and equipment tidiness and security.
11. Install and maintain road works to ‘Chapter 8’ standard.
12. Assist members of the public, clients’ representatives and other officials in relation to Company business.
13. Maintain safety, environmental and quality records.
14. Report any accidents, near misses, faults, damages or defects using appropriate documentation.
15. Undertake any other reasonable instructions given by management or supervision.
Qualifications:
1. National Water Hygiene registration (EUSR).
