Description The key responsibilities for the Data Manager role are: Manage and develop the school's MIS, ensuring data accuracy and security. Act as the MIS Super User, providing training and support to staff. Oversee data collection, maintenance, and reporting to meet school and trust-wide needs. Ensure compliance with statutory reporting deadlines, such as school census submissions. Support the Assistant Headteacher with curriculum planning and timetable creation. Manage assessment data, including performance tracking, student reports, and key performance indicators. Ensure alignment of student records, including SEN, Pupil Premium, and KS2 data. Develop school management reports and contribute to data-driven decision-making. Collaborate with IT colleagues to ensure MIS-related software is maintained and up to date. Support data protection compliance and ensure best practices in data management. Represent the school in trust-wide data networks, sharing best practices and insights. Profile The successful candidate for the Data Manager role is someone with the following: Experience in data management, ideally within an educational setting. Strong knowledge of school MIS systems, preferably Arbor, SIMS, or similar platforms. Excellent analytically skills and attention to detail. Ability to train and support colleagues in the use of MIS platforms. Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Knowledge of statutory data reporting requirements for schools.
