Our marketing department plays an essential role in crafting and executing marketing strategies that drive engagement and connect with students, teachers and parents. The Role
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Content and Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for gathering and creating content that showcases the impactful work of our community projects. This role involves managing content creation and social media. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, an eye for visual content and a proactive approach to social media trends, particularly in capturing the transformative journeys of students on expedition. As part of the role, the coordinator will benefit from direct guidance and mentorship from the Marketing Team Lead, who will play an active role in supporting workload prioritisation, ensuring efficient campaign execution.
Responsibility and Duties
1. Content Gathering: Work closely with in-country teams and expedition leaders to gather impactful stories, photos and videos that align with campaign objectives.
2. Content Creation: Write engaging captions, blog posts, email content and website updates that highlight student experiences and project outcomes, ensuring they align with the brand’s voice.
3. Visual Content Management: Source, organise and maintain high-quality imagery, ensuring all visual content adheres to brand guidelines and safeguarding policies.
4. Scheduling & Publishing: Plan, schedule and publish content across key platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn) to ensure consistent and timely presence.
5. Community Engagement: Respond to comments and DMs, and engage with partner schools’ social pages and student fundraising pages to foster a positive online community and brand loyalty.
6. Content Calendar Management: Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure alignment with campaign goals, key dates and school engagement periods.
7. Support with Marketing Materials: Assist in creating presentations, brochures and other marketing collateral to support schools in their marketing initiatives.
8. Video Editing: Utilise Adobe Premiere Pro to edit and produce video content for social media, website updates and other marketing campaigns.
9. Industry Insights: Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor activities to help adapt marketing strategies as needed.
10. Administrative Support: Manage email enquiries, process data and assist with general administrative duties related to marketing activities.
The Person
Along with a proven background and at least one year’s experience in marketing or another relevant field you will be someone who embodies our core value of integrity, with the ability to work well within a small but fast-paced team and adapt to the dynamic needs of the company.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
1. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adjust your approach to various audiences.
2. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
3. A proactive, flexible and positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
4. Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems and online marketing tools (e.g. Adobe Suite, Mailchimp and WordPress).
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
1. A University degree/diploma in marketing, communications, business, graphic design or a related field.
2. Video editing experience using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro (highly desirable).
3. Knowledge of SEO, analytics and trends in digital content is a plus.
