Main duties of the job
The Health Visitor is responsible for the delivery of the universal and targeted Healthy Child Programme (HCP) to local families. The focus of this specific role is to:
* Provide evidence-based health promotion advice to families on a variety of issues such as sleep, growth, development, and toilet training.
* Signpost families correctly to available resources and services in Barnet to meet identified needs.
* Provide information to other professionals and agencies as appropriate.
* Support the movement in and movement out process of clinical records ensuring timely responses to requests for information and access to local services.
* Contribute to the implementation of a single point of contact, service developments, standard setting, clinical audit, and benchmarking.
Person specification
Skills & Abilities
* Excellent communication skills: IT, written and oral
* Ability to set personal objectives, and manage time, priorities, and stressful situations
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Management experience in a health service setting
Knowledge & Experience
* Knowledge of the Healthy Child Programme
* Understanding of the safeguarding process and child protection procedures
* Knowledge of infection control standards
Education / Qualifications
* Health Visiting professional qualification, with entry onto the 3rd part of the NMC Register.
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
