Provide medical secretary services to the prison GP's. The post holder will be responsible for the effective management of timely administrative processes to manage clinical activity, setting clinical rotas and managing appointment systems. The post holder will work across two prison sites, often needing to change sites at short notice depending on the situation. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Main duties of the job To ensure the smooth running of the healthcare unit. This will include the management of appointments, prison records, clinical rotas and cleansing waiting lists. Act as the first point of contact for clients, staff and external agencies, responding to enquiries in a helpful and proactive manner. To work very closely with nurses, pharmacists, and medical staff to develop and manage appropriate and efficient medication management systems. Responsible for the management of systems and processes to manage the ordering of medication, arranging new clinical appointments for patients/clients and follow up clinical appointments. To work closely with other visiting professionals, organising clinic visits, appointments and other administrative duties.
