Nursery Manager – Job Specification Overview: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to lead our clients brand-new, state-of-the-art private day nursery. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the day-to-day management of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of early years professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment. Ensure the delivery of a high-quality, child-centred curriculum that promotes learning through play. Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and the local community, ensuring effective communication and engagement. Manage nursery budgets, resources, and staffing, ensuring efficient operation and sustainability. Implement and maintain policies and procedures to safeguard children and promote their welfare. Monitor and evaluate the quality of provision, leading continuous improvement initiatives. Liaise with external agencies and organisations to support children’s development and wellbeing. Ensure the nursery environment is welcoming, stimulating, and conducive to learning Qualifications for the Nursery Manager: Minimum Level 5 qualification in Early Years or equivalent. A relevant management qualification is desirable. Experience for the Nursery Manager : Proven experience in a senior role within an early years setting. Demonstrable experience in managing and developing a team. Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and current childcare legislation. Skills and Abilities: Excellent leadership and organisational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, staff, and external partners. Financial management skills, including budget planning and resource allocation. A commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement.
