The Great Western Hospital is currently looking to expand their Radiology Department to support the recovery and current demand within diagnostics. The Radiology Department has recently undergone a £5.5 million equipment replacement programme including replacement of plain film rooms, CT, Interventional and Mobile equipment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for established Radiographers with NHS experience looking to increase their knowledge and work with state-of-the-art equipment.

Main duties of the job
The Radiology Department undertakes approximately 251,300 examinations a year across a variety of modalities. The successful applicant will be a keen team player who prioritizes image quality and patient care, with a flexible approach to working hours. The department supports the development of your clinical skills and education, and we encourage staff CPD.
The Great Western Hospital conducts diagnostic radiological examinations across a range of clinical specialties, adapting techniques to accommodate a variety of patient types; both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multidisciplinary team, in a manner that meets professional, departmental, and legal requirements.
Job responsibilities
* To work as a CT radiographer including cardiac scans, CT colons, plain film and fluoroscopy participation.
* To independently assess and justify referrals under IR(ME)R 2000 following practitioner guidelines where appropriate.
* Able to interpret clinicians' requirements to determine the appropriate radiographic imaging technique and ensure that it is performed in accordance with best practice, resulting in diagnostic images.
* To use discretion to work outside of departmental standards when clinical circumstances necessitate, i.e., undertaking additional or specialist techniques.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc(Hons) Radiography, DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent
* HCPC registration
* Evidence of CPD
Experience
* Extensive experience in a plain film imaging modality
* Up-to-date knowledge of general imaging techniques
* Experience of working unsupervised
* Awareness of clinical governance issues in relation to patient care
* CT experience
* Previous experience at NHS Band 6 level
* Experience of training staff and students
Skills
* Ability to cope with work pressures and manage time effectively
* Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
* PACS knowledge
