An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Project Health & Safety Advisor to join a bespoke Health & Safety Consultancy, second initially on a large industrial new build scheme in Staffordshire. You will be very strong operationally and able to build relationships while managing sub-contractors and their safety output. Due to the nature of the project, large-scale construction/civils experience is a must. You will be supported by a visiting member of the team and the role will be an initial 18-month fixed-term contract but almost certainly will become a permanent position.
Reporting into the Head of Health & Safety you will be:
1. Undertaking monitoring of the health, safety and the environment processes.
2. Ensuring site-based management are focused on delivering a safe and healthy working environment.
3. Advising sites on Project-specific health, safety and environment issues.
4. Working proactively to identify potential risks and areas for continuous improvement.
5. An integral team member in driving safety across their site portfolio in the region.
6. A confident communicator able to manage up as well as down.
7. Delivering an array of bespoke training.
You will be an experienced, confident professional with a passion for Health & Safety, plus an ability to work with people to improve performance. You will also be:
1. NEBOSH Construction or General-qualified (ESSENTIAL)
2. Safety & Health Diploma-qualified (NEBOSH, NVQ, NCRQ – Preferable)
3. Experienced in construction and civils projects.
4. Experienced in Temporary Works and their practical application on projects.
5. Experience in lifting operations (Preferable).
