These positions will allow research fellows to carry out collaborative research with investigators with world-leading expertise in engineering imaging solutions, which includes devising 1. new microscopes and microscope parts (i.e. hardware, especially light sheet microscopy) 2. Software for image analysis 3. Fluorescent proteins for intracellular imaging, and 4. Imaging physiological processes at high spatial / temporal resolution. These positions are therefore an exceptional opportunity for anyone with an interest in an interdisciplinary environment to pursue cutting-edge advanced imaging sciences. We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so. About You You will have a PhD in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Genetics, Optical Engineering, Photophysics, Photochemistry or related areas with strong experience in using advanced imaging approaches. You will join the laboratories of one or more of the following investigators (Satyajit Mayor, Mohan Balasubramanian, Masanori Mishima, and Falk Schneider) at the Centre for Mechanochemical Cell Biology, Biomedical Sciences Directorate at Warwick Medical School. You will play a key role in one of the several projects advancing the hardware or fluorescent probe aspects of high-resolution molecular and cellular imaging. If you are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD but have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant at the top of level 5 of the University grade structure. Upon receipt of evidence of the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure.
