We have a brilliant opportunity to join DAS Law (part of ARAG UK) as a Paralegal in our Employment Team, in either our central Bristol or Bedwas office.
As a Paralegal you can look forward to gaining experience by holding responsibility for a diverse and challenging contentious caseload. We act on behalf of Claimants and Respondents from the very point a dispute arises right through to trial so no two days are ever the same! You can also look forward to a department which boosts a wealth of experience, unrivalled support and opportunities to grow and develop which are actively encouraged.
Who we are:
The Employment Team is made up of around 30 solicitors, paralegals and legal assistants. We are a dedicated and hard-working team who work in a friendly and inclusive environment. We offer exceptional levels of responsibility and pride ourselves on our levels of supervision and internal career progression, including a detailed careers pathways programme. You will be closely supported and mentored by colleagues learning to provide consistent and outstanding service to your clients.
What do we do?
The Employment Team deals with all aspects of employment law including litigation and advisory work for both employees and employers. The type of work the team deals with on a day-to-day basis includes advising on unfair dismissal claims, discrimination and whistle blowing. The work is very varied and no one case is the same as another.
As well as acting for employees and employers during the litigation process we also provide advisory HR services, such as advising on employee handbooks and the drafting of employment contracts to support and guide businesses through the complexity of employment law requirements. The team also deals with its own advocacy.
We encourage early responsibility with a real emphasis on creating opportunities to promote our lawyers from within the team. This means you will gain real “hands on” experience across a broad range of claims and defences and will become an expert on employment law and negotiation and settlement tactics.
We would like to hear from candidates who can demonstrate the following knowledge and experience:
1. Understanding and working knowledge of employment law and procedure;
2. Excellent client care skills.
If you are keen to become part of our exciting future then we would love to hear from you. You will join an exceptionally friendly and supportive team with a commitment to flexible working alongside a generous salary and benefits package including:
1. 25 days holiday with the option to buy up to a further 5 days;
2. Company pension scheme with the option to increase contributions;
3. Group Income Protection for all employees;
4. Group Legal Protection for all employees;
5. Health cash Plan;
6. A choice of either European Motor Assistance or Home Emergency Assistance;
7. Salary sacrifice benefits including Cycle scheme;
8. A comprehensive wellbeing programme;
9. Access to our employee discounts hub offering exclusive discounts across thousands of retail partners, including discounted gym memberships at over 3,000 gyms across the UK;
10. The option to join our Sports and Social club which organises discounted events such as theatre visits, wine tasting and shopping trips.
Whilst this is a full time position, we want to support our employees to achieve a work-life balance that works for them and are happy to discuss flexible working options.
If you think you would be a good match for this role and can demonstrate some transferable experience please apply, regardless of whether you meet all the criteria listed above.
