Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative, enthusiastic and experienced nurse to take up the position of a Nurse Practitioner working with an already established Neurosurgical Nurse Practitioner (NNP) team. The team supports Neurosurgical patients on T4 High Care and B4 Neurosurgery.
Main duties of the job
As NNP you would support the Neurosurgical team to review and plan care for the patients under the supervision of our ward Medical Clinician and team of junior doctors. The NNP team reviews patients, manages the external referral system, whilst working closely with the Neurosurgical teams ensuring that all patients who are admitted through our services have a plan of care. At weekends the team supports the wards with unwell, high acuity patients. The current team is very experienced and would offer support to any new members of staff.
This is a very exciting opportunity of working with established teams incorporating the specialities of Neuro-Oncology, Neuro-Vascular, Skull based Diseases and Traumatic Brain Injuries.
T4 is established for 18 beds caring for patients requiring high care and post ITU step down. Patients admitted there can be traumatic injuries and also elective admissions for a more planned approach. B4 is a general Neurosurgical ward of 29 beds caring for a variety of neurosurgical patients. This is the step down ward for T4 as well as ITU and can see a vast array of complex and simple procedures.
