Job overview
This is a direct replacement for an established B3 post which supports the delivery of specialist neuroscience services with the Regional Neurology service at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Trust. The role is integral to delivery of 7 day working services.
Main duties of the job
This post is integral to the delivery of activity within neurosciences with clear specifications around staffing ratios, timeliness of assessment and intensity of rehabilitation; supporting therapists in the early assessment, early rehabilitation, functional retraining and discharge planning of patients. The role is essential in order to support/facilitate flow and patient care through clinical pathways and the post supports the delivery of 7 day services.
Clinical: This post delivers ten clinical PA’s per week. The position is specialised and needs to be at a Band 3 level due to the clinical complexity of patients managed. The post holder is required to deliver specialist clinical treatment under guidance from registered therapists, as well as lead group sessions.
Administrative management: The post holder supports the neurosciences therapy team providing daily clinical and administrative support integral to safe service delivery such as maintenance of specialist equipment (e.g. wheelchairs, splinting and casting equipment and materials).
Finance and Tariff: Weekend working service delivery is to the national Stroke SNNAP tariff and all patients are required to have data inputted on admission/discharge. The level 1 beds are linked to UKROC and NHS-England data sets and service specifications.
